What is it like to grow professionally within a company from its beginnings until becoming part of the leadership team? Today, we explore the story of Pilar Jalón, one of the first people to join NeuronUP, whose career reflects the company’s evolution from its beginnings to the present day.
She has worked at the Logroño headquarters for more than 15 years and has gone from being an intern to becoming Director of Security and Compliance. Her story is an example of continuous learning, adaptability, and growth in a technological environment undergoing constant transformation.

Pilar tells us about her career, what she does at the company today, and why NeuronUP is a place to build a career:
-What do you do at NeuronUP?
“I manage a technical security and systems area, where we make sure the entire team has the resources they need to work and that security is always integrated into day-to-day operations.
In addition, I lead the compliance area, where we manage risks, define security policies and controls, and oversee regulatory compliance. We work on certifications, third-party assessments, and contractual adjustments.
I am also the data protection point of contact as DPO (Data Protection Officer) and technical lead before health authorities. I oversee the manufacture of NeuronUP as a medical device, ensuring regulatory and quality standards are met”.
-How has your career at NeuronUP developed?
“I started with an innovation internship when the project did not even have a name yet. I had trained in video game programming and began by developing activities for the platform.
Over time, I took on more responsibilities: I coordinated content teams, supported customers, prepared technical equipment, and developed demos. At that point, we were a very small team and everyone did a little bit of everything.
When the GDPR came into effect, I began training as a DPO and later specialized in cybersecurity as a CISO. In recent years, I have focused on regulations governing medical devices, contributing from the leadership team“.
-What do you like most about your work?
“The flexibility to organize my work, develop my own judgment, and work across very different areas.
It is a constant challenge to switch from a technical topic to a legal one in a matter of minutes, but that is also what makes it interesting and stimulating“.
