Discover our alphabet game for adults to work on working memory.
As you know, at NeuronUP we are delighted to receive your ideas and suggestions and we love making them a reality! (Some cost more than others, but trust that we always take them into account and, in time, hopefully everything will arrive). And we tell you this because today we talk about an activity we created thanks to the suggestion of neuropsychologist Nadia Zapeda from the NeuropsicologiaLCB center in Honduras. Thank you, Nadia, once again! Since the children’s game The Little Glutton of Letters is so useful, she asked us if we could make an adult version, and we made her request come true. We created the alphabet game for adults: Bottle Caps with letters!
What does this activity involve?
This NeuronUP alphabet game for adults consists of ordering the sequence of moving letters. In this video we explain how to play.
What does this activity work on?
It works on the alphabet with adults in a playful way. To do this, they need to activate the working memory, since the letters are scrambled and, moreover, they move across the entire screen! Therefore, apart from knowing which letter would come next, they must find it among all the others.
Due to this dynamic, we also work on the sustained attention, hemineglect and inhibition (they must not press a letter impulsively until they make sure there is no earlier one).
Play by levels
As with all NeuronUP games, you can choose the phase (difficulty level). Phase 1 is the easiest and phase 9 the most difficult.
Additionally, the user will move up or down levels based on their correct answers or mistakes.
Activity customization
Additionally, custom phases can be created to adapt them to the user’s specific needs.
Parameters
This way we can define some parameters such as:
- The number of letters.
- The range of letters. For example, from A to M.
- The order. From A to Z or from Z to A.
- Whether the letters move or not.
- Maximum errors.
General aspects
Additionally, you can choose other general aspects such as:
- The number of exercises.
- Maximum time.
- Whether or not you want a visible timer for the activity.
- Whether or not you want to include an inactivity warning.
- Modify the task instructions.
Default settings for this alphabet game for adults
Remember that, apart from arranging them in alphabetical order, you can also do it in reverse, from Z to A.
Where to find this setting?
To work with this setting:
- Open the activity.
- Click on «Mode».
- Select “From Z to A”.
Other activities with more default settings
You will also find the option to play the game in reverse in the activities The Little Glutton, The Little Glutton of Letters and Bottle Caps.
Children’s version
This alphabet game is the adult version of the children’s game The Little Glutton of Letters, also focused on developing the same intervention areas.

This activity is available in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.
