Pilar Jalón, Director of Security and Compliance at NeuronUP
What is it like to grow professionally within a company from its earliest days to becoming a member of the executive committee? Today, we get to know the story of Pilar Jalón, one of the first people to join NeuronUP, whose career mirrors the company’s journey from its beginnings to the present day.

She has worked at the Logroño office for more than 15 years and has grown from intern to Director of Security and Compliance. Her story is an example of continuous learning, adaptability and professional growth within a technological environment in constant transformation.
At NeuronUP, we believe that the true value of a company lies in the people who build it. That is why we created this space: to discover, through real stories, what it means to grow professionally within a project with a strong purpose and social impact.
Pilar shares her career journey, what she does today at the company and why NeuronUP is a place where people can build a career.
– What do you do at NeuronUP?
“I manage a technical area focused on security and systems, where we make sure that the entire team has the resources they need to work and that security is fully integrated into everyday operations.
I also lead the compliance area, where we manage risks, define security policies and controls, and oversee regulatory compliance. We work on certifications, third-party assessments and contractual adaptations.
In addition, I am the point of contact for data protection as DPO — Data Protection Officer — and the technical lead before health authorities. I supervise the development and manufacturing of NeuronUP as a medical device, ensuring that regulatory and quality standards are met.”
-How has your career at NeuronUP developed?
“I started with an innovation internship when the project did not even have a name yet. I had trained in video game programming and began by developing activities for the platform.
Over time, I took on more responsibilities: I coordinated content teams, supported clients, prepared technical equipment and developed demos. At that time, we were a very small team, and everyone did a bit of everything.
With the arrival of the GDPR, I began training as a DPO and later specialised in cybersecurity as a CISO. In recent years, I have focused on medical device standards and regulations, contributing from my role on the executive committee.”
-What do you enjoy most about your work?
“The flexibility to organise my work, develop my own judgement and work across very different areas.
It is a constant challenge to move from a technical issue to a legal one within minutes, but that is also what makes the work interesting and stimulating.”
-Why would you recommend building a career at NeuronUP?
“Because it is an opportunity to be part of a project with a clear purpose: improving people’s lives.
You can also develop your skills in different areas and work with current technologies in an environment that fosters continuous learning.”
-Define NeuronUP in three words.
“Perseverance, transformation and learning.”
