Today we present our new game Pick the Flowers that helps improve inhibition.
What does this activity involve?
This NeuronUP game for adults aims to press the button located in the center of the screen each time the element indicated at the top appears.
In this video we explain how to play.
What does this activity target?
Pick the Flowers primarily trains inhibition, but it also trains processing speed and sustained attention in adults.
How does it do this? We must pay attention to the different elements shown on the screen.
To successfully complete the level, the user must correctly identify and respond to the indicated stimulus, ignoring the distracting stimuli that appear on the screen.
Play by levels
As with all NeuronUP games, you can choose the phase (the difficulty level). The first phase is the easiest and the twelfth the most difficult.
The user will move up or down levels automatically based on their correct or incorrect responses. Additionally, the professional can choose the phase manually.
Activity configuration
Pick the Flowers is a game that you can play by default
- No maximum time,
- No visible timer,
- 5 exercises to move up a phase,
- 3 exercises to move down a phase.
Application in daily life
We can relate this activity to everyday situations such as crossing a street. To do so safely, it is important to pay attention to the appropriate stimulus; in this case it would be that the pedestrian traffic light is green, and to avoid impulses like crossing when it is red or not looking to the sides to check that no cars are approaching.
We can also relate it in the opposite sense, that is, if we are driving a car. We must stay attentive while driving, moving forward only when the traffic light is green. It is necessary to maintain an appropriate processing speed to make the necessary movements and prevent accidents.
This activity is recommended for adults with ADHD, frontotemporal dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease.
