Profile of Igor Bombín

Igor Bombín is a Doctor in Psychology and a Clinical Neuropsychologist (accredited by the General Council of Psychology).
 
In the field of clinical practice, since 2001 he has been dedicated to the neuropsychological rehabilitation of patients with neurological damage, especially acquired brain injury: working as a neuropsychologist and coordinator of interdisciplinary teams, first at the State Reference Center for Acquired Brain Injury Care (CEADAC, Madrid); and from 2007 at Reintegra: Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center (Oviedo), a center he co-founded, where he is clinical director and neuropsychologist. The care activity at Reintegra is aimed at comprehensive rehabilitation (including neuropsychological rehabilitation) of people with acquired brain injury, people with neurodegenerative pathologies, and in recent years, neurodevelopmental disorders.
 
His research activity in the field of neuroscience began in 1999, and has been mainly linked to three lines of research:

1. neuropsychology of schizophrenia and other psychoses;
2. development and validation of neuropsychological tests;
3. techniques and effectiveness of neuropsychological rehabilitation.

As a result of his research work, he has published more than 33 scientific articles, in addition to book chapters and Clinical Guidelines. He is a member of the Biomedical Research Networking Center in Mental Health (CIBERSAM).
 
As a teacher, he was an associate professor at the University of Oviedo from 2010 to 2017 and participates in several national and international master’s programs as a guest lecturer.
