Today we present our new Learning Names game (audio) that helps improve episodic memory.
What does this activity involve?
This NeuronUP game for children consists of matching people’s names with their respective photographs based solely on hearing the names.
In this video we explain how to play:
What does this activity train?
Learning Names targets the episodic memory, specifically auditory episodic memory, with children in a playful way.
How does it do it? The user will associate people’s names with their respective photographs based solely on hearing the names.
Play by levels
As with all NeuronUP games, you can choose the level in which your user plays. In this case, there are nine levels, with the first level being the easiest and the ninth level the most difficult.
In addition, the user will move up or down levels depending on their correct answers or mistakes.
Activity customization
Custom levels can be created to adapt them to the user’s specific needs.
Parameters
You can set some parameters within the game such as:
- The number of items that appear on the screen,
- similarity between the items,
- maximum errors the user can make.
General Aspects
In addition, you will have the opportunity to choose other general aspects such as:
- The number of exercises,
- the maximum time to complete the activity,
- whether you want to include an inactivity warning or not,
- modify the task instructions,
- visible timer.
Adaptability
You can choose between two ways to select the items that appear on the screen:
- The first will be selecting the item and dragging without releasing the mouse,
- and the second way will be clicking on the item and placing it where the activity indicates.
Application in daily life
Within the school environment, children should practice associating their classmates with their voices.
This practice not only improves their ability to remember names, but also promotes greater social interaction.
By developing mnemonic strategies from an early age, solid foundations are laid for effective memory and an improved ability to associate faces and names in the future.
