The clinical psychologist and coordinator of the Therapeutic Educational Classrooms at CPC Salesianos Los Boscos, José Ramón González Toca, explains how they carry out cognitive stimulation in the school and offers his perspective on the experience of using NeuronUP with students from both Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Primary Education.
For several years now we have been using NeuronUP as a fundamental tool of the Cognitive Aptitudes program that is developed in the Therapeutic Educational Classrooms, as well as with students with special educational needs (ACNEE), both in Primary Education and in Compulsory Secondary Education.
Before NeuronUP
Before this platform arrived at our center we encountered problems when it came to finding attractive materials developed from a neuropsychological basis and when we did find them they would soon run out or the students would lose interest.
Cognitive stimulation in school with NeuronUP
With NeuronUP we have a tool that allows us to present material in an easy, attractive, dynamic way and that is also in constant evolution and improvement.
Personalization
One of the great qualities of this platform is that it allows us to create personalized programs and sessions, so when we work in group sessions each student can work on the areas they need most.
Remote access
For our students these sessions are not approached as work but as a playful and enriching activity, so their performance and attitude are very positive. On some occasions the work has been so productive and positive that families have requested access from their homes to be able to continue the work. Especially during the period when we were all in lockdown, NeuronUP became a fantastic tool.
Records the student’s progress
Moreover, the ability to record students’ progress is very interesting because it allows us to see their development and adjust to their needs and progress in a personalized way.
Based on neuropsychological criteria
Finally, I would like to point out that NeuronUP has a very attractive design and is a very intuitive platform, but most importantly, it is a tool that is grounded in neuropsychological criteria and makes it possible to work on different fundamental areas such as attention, memory or language based on solid foundations.
