Did you know that with NeuronUP, besides working individually, you can also carry out group work? Some centers, especially associations, run group sessions where users solve the different activities together. And there is no doubt that working in a group has many advantages.
Advantages of group work with NeuronUP
We highlight the three main ones:
- It greatly increases motivation.
- Users learn from each other how to perform the task.
- It works on social skills (taking turns to speak, listening, helping when necessary…).
NeuronUP offers both paper activities for group work and digital activities suitable for being worked on in groups. We show you some exercises and explain how to run them in a group.
NeuronUP paper activities for group work
Below, we suggest some NeuronUP paper activities ideal for group work:
1. Identify colors
How is it played?
The user must identify the requested color among a set of various colors.
Required materials
- Large screen.
- Attached material.
Steps
- Place the first sheet on the screen.

- In turns, participants should point to the boxes that contain the same color as the model.
- Mark them so they do not repeat those already marked.
- Repeat the process until all have been found.
- Do the same with the other three sheets.

Explain to the users that they have to think about which of the words does not fit in that group for whatever reason. If no one is able to give a correct answer, say it yourself and explain the reason. Do the same with the following word groups.

NeuronUP digital activities for group work
As we explained earlier, some of NeuronUP’s digital activities can also be worked on in groups.
How to work in a group?
But how? It’s very easy! We’ll explain it:
1. To run sessions for group intervention, ideally create a group user first. In the notes you can write the names of the members and upload a photo of the group to their profile or an image that identifies them.
2. When we create the session we can label it with the group’s name or with the names of the group’s members to identify it quickly.
In this case you may want to set “no” in the option “user evaluation” to focus exclusively on the exercises and set to “yes” in “confirm end of activity” and “yes” in “continue button” to be able to control the pace of the session.
Below, we suggest some NeuronUP digital activities ideal for group work:
1. Match the Cards, Matching the Cards and Animal Pairs
How is it played?
This activity consists of discovering the pairs among a set of cards placed face down.

How is Match the Cards worked on in a group?
The games Match the Cards, Matching the Cards and Animal Pairs have an extra customization that allows the professional to number the cards on their back to make the group activity easier.
Customizing it is as easy as:
- Choose the game Match the Cards, Matching the Cards or Animal Pairs.
- Click on Custom phase.
- Enter the name of your customization.

2. Hangman and The Word Guardian

This activity consists of guessing the hidden words by selecting the letters that compose them one by one.
Which cognitive functions are trained?
- Vocabulary
- Working memory
How is this game played in a group?
Each user will say a letter in turn until a user guesses the word or the game ends.
3. Correct Image Name
How is it played?
The user must select the word that corresponds to the presented image.
Which cognitive functions are trained?
- Discrimination
How is Correct Image Name worked on in a group?
Each possible solution has a letter. Therefore the user should simply say out loud “A, B, C or D” to identify which word corresponds to the displayed image.
There is also the option for the therapist to ask “Who thinks the correct answer is the “A”? and the users who believe that is the correct answer raise their hand. Then do the same with B, with C and with D. This way the therapist can check everyone’s answer.
Paper version
Remember that this activity can also be done on paper.
